This month's exclusive offer to ie members is Deep Woods "Ebony & Ivory" from Margaret River, Australia

Deep Woods "Ivory" 2005 is a blend of Semillon (42%) Sauvignon Blanc (32%) Chardonnay (26%).

The fruit for Ivory was picked from 16 February through to 16 March 2005 and sourced from vineyards in Wilyabrup, central Margaret River and Yallingup, with a small portion from the Geographe region.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Pale straw green.

Aroma: Tropical fruits, freshly cut grass, passionfruit and citrus.

Palate: This wine displays crisp, citrus and tropical fruit flavours. There is a hint of sweetness which is supported by a crisp acid backbone.

CELLARING

Deep Woods "Ebony" 2004 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (52%) Shiraz (45%) Merlot (3%).

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Deep red-purple.

Aroma: Black fruits, chocolate and licorice.

Palate: A medium-bodied wine displaying rich, ripe red and black fruits. The tannins are soft and approachable in their youth.
